The visual identity of Cyberpunk 1982–2020 draws from classic cyberpunk aesthetics and a comic-book language rooted in the Neuroshima universe. The goal was to build a cohesive, expressive system that feels raw, technical, and unmistakably cyberpunk—while letting the imagery carry most of the narrative weight.
The cover is built around iconic pop-culture references, including Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, and The Matrix. Rather than direct quotations, these influences shaped the mood and symbolism.
A custom typographic logo was designed for the title, emphasizing a mechanical, engineered feel.
The illustrations blend classic sci‑fi imagery with elements of the contemporary world.
Influenced by years of reading and watching cyberpunk fiction, they are intentionally graphic and narrative-driven—allowing the images to tell the story with minimal explanation.
The spine features a high-contrast punk face rendered in negative, combined with a comic halftone shadow to create depth within a minimal space. The endpapers are fully printed with a cover-based illustration, reduced to a single red color to reinforce the technical, industrial tone.
